  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons minced garlic
  • 5 pounds chicken wings (flats & drumettes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  4. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  5. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  7. Pour in the soy sauce, honey, and brown sugar, stirring until combined.
  8. Sprinkle in the mustard powder, then let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes until thick and glossy.
  9. Remove the crispy wings from the oven and place them in a large bowl.
  10. Pour the hot honey garlic sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  11. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the wings for 3-5 minutes after baking. Air-fryer method: Cook at 380°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
